Vesenda in the volume "Shades of Blue": Transforming Shadow Data into Strategic AI Assets
The book "Shades of Blue: Science, Technologies and Business Strategies for the Exploration of Unchartered Futures", published by McGrawHill and edited by Marica Grego, a researcher at the University of Pavia, was presented on Thursday, 23rd January, at the ITIR Summit 2025.
"Shades of Blue" is an innovative volume created in collaboration with ITIR - Institute for Transformative Innovation Research. The book aims to inspire new perspectives on science, technology, and business strategies, offering valuable insights to address future challenges.
In Chapter 14, titled "From Shadow to Sunlight: Transforming Hidden Organization Data into Strategic AI Assets," Vesenda explores how hidden organisational data (Shadow Data), often invisible to core business systems and challenging to manage, can be transformed into valuable assets for Artificial Intelligence (AI). These data, typically residing in spreadsheets, customised applications, or rigid SaaS solutions, can be structured, centralised, and integrated into the organisation’s core information systems through low-code platforms (LCAP). These innovative technologies unlock unexplored potential, enabling the creation of an application ecosystem that extends and optimises existing information systems, making data more accessible, governable, and ready for advanced analysis.
A structured transformation results in centralised, traceable, and digitally prepared resources for Business and Artificial Intelligence. Once these hidden data treasures are uncovered and organised, they become essential for powering intelligent algorithms and more accurate predictive models, opening new opportunities for businesses to make strategic decisions based on solid insights.
Business and Artificial Intelligence can then fully realise their potential, enhancing the effectiveness of organisational operations.
With this transformation, organisations can:
Improve analysis accuracy and enhance forecasts: By identifying, restructuring, and governing hidden data, more precise and reliable AI models can be trained.
Increase operational efficiency: Automating manual and repetitive processes reduces time and costs.
Make better-informed decisions: With a complete and integrated view of business data, decisions become more timely and based on accurate information.
In summary, Chapter 14 of "Shades of Blue" highlights how the synergy between AI and LCAP can transform hidden data into strategic assets, improving operational efficiency and organisational competitiveness. Moreover, it leads to sustainable and transformative innovation, helping create more agile business environments that can quickly respond to market challenges.
The book "Shades of Blue" serves as a reference point for all those who wish to explore the new frontiers of innovation.
Vesenda is proud to have contributed to this project, demonstrating how AI-ready data can support organisations in their digital transformation, creating a smarter and more sustainable future.

Vesenda at the ITIR Summit 2025: Agility as the Key to Digital Transformation
On January 23, 2025, the ITIR Summit 2025 took place in Pavia, an extraordinary event that brought together experts and industry leaders to discuss transformative innovation. This year's theme, "Shades of Blue," explored the connections between the ocean depths, deep space, and artificial intelligence, offering valuable insights to address future challenges.
The day began with a plenary session at the Teatro Fraschini, where distinguished speakers shared their experiences and visions. Among the keynote speakers, Enrico Credendino, Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy, spoke about the "Blue Ocean," while Patrizia Caraveo, astrophysicist and research director at the National Institute of Astrophysics, discussed the "Blue Space." Alessandro La Volpe, CEO of IBM Italy, and Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave, explored the theme of "Blue Artificial Intelligence."
In the afternoon, the event moved to the University of Pavia, where nine parallel in-depth sessions took place. Among these, the session "The Agile Blueprint: Elements for Success in Transformation" saw the active participation of Vesenda's Co-Founder, Stefano Conconi, who engaged with other experts on the topic "The Soul of Agility," sharing skills and experiences.
During this stimulating debate, profound reflections emerged on how to cultivate agile and sustainable transformation within organizations. Together, we explored the key factors driving cultural change, enhancing team collaboration, strategies for building a resilient and future-ready workforce, and the crucial role of stakeholder relationships in improving agility and alignment.
Conconi emphasized the importance of effective leadership and cultural transformation to cultivate an agile mindset. He highlighted how flexible and agile tools are essential to support this evolution. Agile methodologies require equally agile tools to concretely transform an organization. Low-code and no-code (LCNC) platforms like eLegere enable the creation of solutions adaptable to changes and allow employees - both business and operational roles - to develop and evolve collaborative application solutions with flexibility and maximum customization. Thanks to their flexibility, these tools allow for rapid process modifications during operations, adapting them to new needs. They facilitate collaboration between IT and business, creating a common language between the two. This is possible because LCNC platforms enable users with limited technical skills (the so-called "citizen developers") to create applications visually. He also highlighted how agility is essential to face today's challenges and build a better future. In a constantly changing context, the ability to promptly respond to market evolutions is a key competitive factor.
The ITIR Summit 2025 was an intense and inspiring experience, a unique opportunity to connect with the main actors in the world of innovation and share our vision of agile and sustainable digital transformation.
Our experience and passion allow us to accompany medium and large companies on this journey, providing customizable solutions and strategic support.
Stay tuned for further updates on our projects and future initiatives!
Transformative Innovation at ITIR Summit 2025
Thursday, January 23, 2025, the Teatro Fraschini in Pavia hosted the launch of the new edition of ITIR - Institute for Transformative Innovation Research of the University of Pavia, themed "Shades of Blue".
The event was a true journey into the future, connecting three major research areas – interstellar space, ocean depths, and artificial intelligence, all united by the allure of discovery and the color blue, symbolizing depth, technology, and mystery.
The summit represented a unique meeting point between researchers, businesses, and institutions. Thanks to ITIR's innovative vision, a fertile environment for the exchange of ideas and collaboration was created, demonstrating how mastering the unknown can help us design the future.
Together with ITIR, we explored how transformative innovation can be a concrete tool to tackle global challenges, from sustainability to digital evolution. Talking about innovation by defining clear boundaries and a direction to follow is not easy, but ITIR is doing it with competence and vision, integrating realities in a participatory way.
Vesenda is proud to be a partner of ITIR, contributing with its experience and technology to support businesses in facing future challenges. Our collaboration with ITIR is an example of how the union of different skills and visions can lead to extraordinary results.
We are excited to continue this journey together and see where transformative innovation will take us.
